Glory Hill Assembly of God
OUR MINISTRIES
Glory Hill Assembly of God has good youth outreaches in place – Sunday School, Youth Night, Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries, Drama Praise Team, both an annual Kids Krusade and Youth Revival. These have interfaced well to provide balance for the needs of children, teens and young adults within the church, as well as the elders keeping them young at heart.
Prayer
Prayer is fundamental in developing an intimate relationship with Jesus. Glory Hill is known for being a House of Prayer. When a need arises, it is reassuring to know that you can call or email and that problem will be taken before The Lord. It is not a matter of denomination, but the knowledge that we are all God's children and He cares and understands. No need is too great or too small for Him to hear and answer.
Music
Here at Glory Hill, we do a combination of hymns and current contemporary songs. We rely on the Holy Spirit's leading as to the order & type of songs sung for each service. The Heavenly Father is not afraid of new songs, for David tells us in God's Word - "Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise." Psalm 33:3. This verse is just one of many. Even in Revelations, they will sing a new song to Christ.
Sunday school
Sunday School is an important component that has become obsolete in many churches today. But at Glory Hill, we still value the benefits that come from teaching all ages the Word of God. Jesus spoke to Peter in John 21:15 & 16 to "Feed my lambs... Feed my sheep." No one is to be left out from being taught the Good News of the Gospel. It is a time for one on one discussions to help individuals understand and grow in The Lord.
Youth
It has been said that youth are the church of tomorrow. But Glory Hill believes that all ages are vital to the Body of Christ now - today.
We work hard to make sure that each age group receives the time and ministry helps that are needed to keep them active in the Christian faith.
Transitions have taken place as one group graduates and grows into adults while another is not quite to the teenage years. Regardless, the church schedules age appropriate services, outings and activities to engage our people in living their lives for Christ.
Bus Ministry
Glory Hill was provided a church van in 2012 to use as a ministry tool. We have a dream of adding more vans in the future, understanding that especially those who are not driving age can be kept from services without transportation. This gives children and teens an opportunity to participate when parents do not attend services. Also when a vehicle breaks down or money for gas is an issue, people can still get to God's House to worship.
Drama Praise Team
The Sign Drama Ministry was begun as an outreach ministry of Covenant Grace Church of God Youth Group mentoring our kids to give out instead of to just receive. Our youth & now adults have embraced this opportunity to be ministers and have developed into a strong group capable of their own outreach ministry.
The Praise Team is a group that is asked to take a step above the ordinary to exceptional. A good minister works hard, shows dedication, receives instruction, remains submissive and teachable, all according to the scriptures. These qualities are developed by following strict disciplines and rules. By expecting this of the team, the Church is preparing them for whatever additional ministry He calls them to.
